MARKET UPDATE - APRIL 2012 We are beginning the second quarter of the year and the tide appears to be turning in the Malibu Real Estate market. Although it is still a Buyer’s market and the competitive pricing is the key, the activity level has seen a dramatic increase over the previous few years. There have already been 54 home sales and there are another 53 single family homes in escrow at the present time. The total active inventory on Aprils 12th broke below the 250 home number compared to an inventory of over 300 for the past several years. The smart investors have spoken and the buying energy has returned to Malibu.

NewsSusan's Famous Cookies Auctionned On Valentine's Day 2012, I participated in a charitable auction for the Coldwell Banker Charitable Foundation. I auctioned two batches of my "famous" home-baked chocolate chip cookies. One winning bidder donated a batch to Malibu's Point Dume Marine Science School. for the Honor of Receiving the “Girl Power Award"
At a May 20, 2011 luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel, I received the “Girl Power Award” from A Place Called Home. APCH is a dynamic, non-profit organization that runs a youth center in South Central Los Angeles. Its Mission is To provide at-risk youth with a secure, positive family environment where they can regain hope and belief, earn trust and self-respect and learn skills to lead to a productive lifestyle free of the gangs, drugs and poverty that surround them. The annual Girl Power Awards Luncheon benefits the APCH Girl Power Project, a program that inspires inner city teens to discover the beauty and strength of their minds and spirits. The luncheon event raised more than $180,000.
In my remarks, I related how I am empowered by my passion for selling real estate, and I challenged the crowd: "It is so important that we all find the thread in our lives that empowers each of us in this world and then we use it to empower others. In our busy lives, we have to make a conscious effort to do so." The organization's Website is http://www.apch.org.
